Hi, I'm Emily

Forget the fancy leggings and picture perfect inversions! I’m here for you - the inflexible, the non-bendy, the 'I'm not good enough' yogis!

I was born with bilateral hip dysplasia, a condition where the ball and socket of the hip joint do not form correctly. I first learnt to walk when I was two and a half, and spent most of the first four years of my life in traction, splints and plaster casts.

A lot has happened since then! Fast forward to my teenage years, when I spent Friday nights at home practicing yoga from a VHS tape, and the seeds started to grow on my yoga journey. I practised on and off for many years, drifting away from the practice but always having a niggle in me to return to the mat.

It was during my time living in Australia in 2014 that yoga became a regular part of my routine again. I developed a love of hot yoga and started to see yoga as more than the physical asana practice, allowing the foundations of the practice to permeate into my daily life.

I completed my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2019, and have since gone on to complete a 30 Hour Yin Training with Norman Blair, and a 6 month teacher mentoring programme with Catherine Weston. I continue to develop my skills and knowledge through regular yoga and wellbeing workshops, seminars and classes, and have recently become a Mental Health First Aider.

My style is fluid, strong and inclusive, with attention to alignment principles that work for your own body. Yoga is not a ‘one size fits all’ practice, and my classes invite you to explore the wonder of your own unique body in a fun and non-judgemental way. You can still have a fulfilling and inspiring practice without looking like a pretzel!

Every day, yoga teaches me something new. My way of thinking, living and being has been transformed by the practice, and continues to evolve. I am humbled every day to share a practice that has such a powerful impact on so many people’s lives, and that’s something I will never take for granted.

I look forward to connecting with you on or off the mat very soon!
